Magnifier Trouble

May 7th, 2011
Ever since I started this project, I have had trouble with the magnifier. It works, yes. It will magnify the image for me, but then I cannot scroll down to see the bottom of the image. Kind of frustrating because I especially like seeing people's macro shots magnified.

Does anybody know if this is is a glitch, operation error, or simply my computer? I have a 2010 Macbook Pro.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can shed some light on this annoyance.

I have the same problem on my HP laptop.

Seems to be okay on bigger screens. I miss the bottom on my laptop too (MacBook Pro.)

F11. Try that. @pwallis

Although not sure it works for Mac. I know it works for windows. It gives a full screen option.

Hmm, I guess that's my speaker function. Thanks though. I'll keep trying other ones.

Doesn't work for me either, and I've tried on Chrome and IE :(

Nor me.

I just had a play and fixed it. Change your view mode to full screen (F11 in firefox). This gives you the full shot. To go back to your previous screen use the ordinary screen size icon on the top right near the minimiser tab.

Tried teh F11 plus the magnifier ... it is a little better but still on lap top misses the bottom of pic.

@pwallis @allegresse @girlie @aj1268 @nanascraps @swilde @elizabeth

Click the magnifying glass to view the larger image. Right click said image, and hit something like "View Image". It might ask you to open it in a program, but just choose your default browser again. It'll then open the larger image in its own right, free of the HTML layout rules causing it to not scroll.

It's not a good solution, but it's the best you're gonna get I'm afraid :)

@eyebrows Thanks for the tips!

It simply doesn't work. I've looked at it at work, at home, on PC's and on my Mac. best option is just look at a bigger screen. :)

@5unflow3r or read my post.

@eyebrows But if it worked there'd be no need for a "work around". I'd read your post. before I posted :-)

I have the same problem too. My usual trick is to use command-'-' (I'm a mac user!) to zoom out slightly so the whole pic fits on the screen. It's usually still bigger than the original. (I think the windoze equivalent is control-'-' ('-' is the key next to + on the keyboard !)
