im starting a new personal project, asides from the gcse portrait project in school.
my idea is to create photographs inspired by songs and lyrics, so i take lyrics from a song, and turn them into a photo.
does anyone have any advice? good songs to take lryics from? or just generally discus...
I've done a few pictures like this. I usually have had the best luck when it's a song that means something to me. I don't think it had to be a literal interpretation of the lyrics to still portray the emotion of the song.
is there a way that you can google random song choices for your inspiration to broaden your musical horizons? when i try and do this i find myself stuck on one particular artist or genre as i get brain block about what i know musically
I'm going to use my third album for challenges only, and this is one I'm planning on doing. I went through my itunes and picked some of my favorite songs [way more than a month's worth]. I only picked one per artist I like, otherwise it would be all songs by the same people. I'm just going to put it on shuffle and go with the top 30 songs, then pick a certain line from the song to represent.
I'm currently doing this challenge, although I've only done two so far. As far as picking my songs, I basically did the same as @triciaanddazzle, although I did have song request from @janmaki that I should be working on for today.
Songs that have really meaningful lyrics are good and ones with different interpretations too. Also, don't take the obvious photo. I find bands like Train have really good lyrics to take photos from, I am thinking about doing a song by them in a photo at the weekend. Good luck :)
