A place of miracles your lens can't reach

I have just watched ON I-player two episodes of 'Inside the Human Body', presented by an adorable and inspiring Dr Michael Mosley. It takes you on a most stunning journey from the point of creation to the final intake of breath, and what happens within us along the way. It is delivered in straightforward language and with such awe, humour, intelligence and warmth and with enormous respect for each of the participating individuals. however, there has been some controversy over the filming of the death of a very willing subject at the end of the second episode. Initially shocked by the idea, I thought it was done with great sensitivity and was necessary to the programme, but you can always switch off at that point if this offends.

I think we with our lenses constantly picking up detail of nature never previously seen or noticed by ourselves and many others, thus underlining the miracle of life. As such, I think this programme that magnifies our inner world by 10000s does the same and will be appreciated by photographers.

Wonderful ...and sadly probably only available in the UK, but hope those beyond our shores will get to view this incredible documentary in two parts: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0110f51. ENJOY.

I saw this programme. I love Michael as a presenter and like you thought the death scene was in no way sensationalist. He makes everything so understandable and the internal photography is amazing. I would highly recommend this programme.
