Radiance Lost!

May 16th, 2011
Apologies for starting a new thread. I did find an old thread on this topic, but wasn't convinced that anyone would see what I posted!

Today I uploaded my photo and my glorious glowing orange flower has been turned into a muddy brown colour! This is the first time I have noticed a significant change when uploading. I don't really want to artificially boost the colour to get the result I want, any other suggestions/comments appreciated.

Having seen the two side by side in different windows - I am amazed how much difference there is. I wonder if it's confined to red reproduction?

The original certainly glowed and this, though lovely, doesn't.

I have had this issue twice before when uploading on here and it has also been with orange tones. Unfortunately I don't have an answer as to why it happens. I wasn't happy with the upload so I deleted my pics, made copies of them and edited them to increased the vibrancy a little bit, which looked a bit ridiculous normally but once uploaded on here again it looked ok.

Sometimes when this happens to me, I click on the "edit in Picnik" button, adjust the contrast or saturation, then upload it back to the project. See if that makes a difference with your photo.

I seem to remember it having something to do with how the colors are saved? Like the file format for them. Hmm... I wish I could remember what it was exactly. :-|
