I am sorry for posting a ton of pictures just now, and flooding my followers' feeds. It's just, well, I had sort of lost my motivation recently. I have over 150 followers, and am lucky to get 30 views on my pics anymore. And I only get most of those because I post the links on Twitter and Facebook. I had considered giving up this project altoghether.
Then today, I saw such a lovely thing, and was quick enough to get a decent shot of it, and it made me remember why I started doing this project in the first place.
So, thanks for putting up with the influx of photos, and for actually looking at my pictures!
Oh, if I payed attention to my number of views, I'd have given up a long time ago. You have to make the project about yourself, not a popularity contest. I'm using this project to document a year of my life, more or less.
I wish I had the time to be more active on this site and view and comment on everyone's photos, but the reality is that I simply don't. So I do it when I can. My main goal is to keep up with taking and posting my own photos. The comments (getting and receiving) are secondary. Yes, they are nice to get, but my priority is to keep up with MY project. (And that can be challenging at times, with little ones.)
I'd say, keep hanging in there. The completed project will be a nice keepsake to look back on.
I think you've answered your own question - you like taking pictures, of things you like, for you - as evidenced by the shot above (which is great in my opinion)
I'd focus (pun intended) on that, rather than the views / lack of views your pictures get :)
@photoenthusiast Did you even read her post? She was saying she is discouraged and you discourage her more. She wasn't asking to be critiqued so save your comments for the critique section on 365.
Don't get disheartened, I sometimes get demotivated and frustrated and think about packing it all in, and then one day I get a really great photo (like yours above) and it makes it all worthwhile :-)
