Mac photo editing software

May 18th, 2011
Any mac computer user here? I'm still new to mac. I have the latest macbook pro. I've been looking around to see an editing software that can flip, rotate, and cut a picture with ease. On my PC computer, I could do all that in microsoft office picture manager and I could do it fast. I tried doing it on iphoto but it only rotated the picture. I couldn't flip the picture. Any downloadable applications or software for mac that I should know about?

I'm using picnik but it takes so long to upload one picture and to save it after. I'm managing over 100 pictures so it won't be fun.

I also have a MacBook Pro - I use Adobe Lightroom, and Adobe Photoshop, for editing.

Try Aperture. I love it and it's not as complicated as photoshop. You can get a 30 day trial and it's a good price on the Mac App Store.

iPhoto is so limited. I use Lightroom and Photoshop Elements. I've never tried Aperture but have heard great things about it.

I use Lightroom. You get a free 30 day trial. I use Photoshop at work all the time, but find Lightroom easier to use for basic editing.

I have photoshop elements on my mac and i use that a lot though part of elements is a program called Bridge and i like to start in that when i shoot RAW and then change to elements for more editing. I too use picnic occasionally but yes it is slooooowwwww!! =D Doesnt cost very much either and youtube as well as other websites have video tutorials for using elements.

Seashore 5 is a stripped down port of GIMP to OSX. It's free (as in both beer and speech). I use it sometimes for basic cropping and resizing: http://seashore.sourceforge.net/
