my camera bag was a bog standard black, square ,masculine looking thing, while it was practical and fit my stuff in nicely it was ugly, now i have looked at the links posted for pretty bags but just couldn't justify the expense so today i went into town and browsed the shops for a nice bag big enough for my camera stuff to use for when i am photographing events(like the wedding i'm doing this weekend as i am also a guest). i managed to find a really nice big white bag with lots of pockets and a choice of short handles or a long strap,i cut the top flap off my old black camera bag and the strap and side pockets and the basic square padded bit that was left over slotted into my new bag to protect my camera and lenses from bumps
I did something similar. I measured a biag I've owned that has lots of pockets and I love. Then I purchased a $15 camera padded case that would fit inside. I love it as a camera bag. It's even better because it was something I already loved.
@sallycheese I do like your bag makeover. It's a stylish bag and I bet it will look better with your flowery dress and white sandals than any square camera bag.
