I've noticed a few people on here comment that they're very very picky about what they do and do not fav. I like to think I am too. But then, I have 413 fav's (so far). But if you were to have a look through them, you wouldn't find a single one that didn't inspire me, move me, cause me to laugh out loud or possibly even snort with laughter, or just generally make me want to somehow emulate it in some way. This site is such a source for inspiration (and entertainment) and I'm glad that, picky as I consider myself, I can still manage to come across that many shots that literally make me say "Wow." So I just wanted to say to everyone who's photos I've enjoyed enough to mark as a fav - thanks!! Keep em coming, and I'll keep fav'ing:) And I'll try and return the favour for you:)
@pwallis You know - I could have written this and had been thinking lately about faves. I'm sort of sad when I find someone whose photos I like and then I see they have very few faves. I fave a lot - only photos I admire. But there's so much to admire here. I find a lot of my faves in other people's collections. And it just makes my day when someone faves one of my pics. @reba@pwallis totally agree...I have 346 faves and they have all been chosen because they provoked an emotional response of some kind. I fav a lot too...but then there is some awesome talent here.....
@sabrinaromahn@reba@looseimages another reason I fav a shot is when I see that someone who has been trying to achieve a certain something has finally achieved that. Nothing like overcoming a personal obstacle, photographically speaking. I know the feeling well, and I like to celebrate these little triumphs with that person as well:)
I love getting favs, but I rarely fav other photos. It has to REALLY stand out for me to fav; something I want to look back on again or that I stare at for awhile when I first see it. I always appreciate favs, but I just have a hard time hitting that button. Since I started on March 15th, I've only faved 55.
I feel really bad that I haven't fav'ed any photos yet. I just think that I wouldn't be able to stop since there is so much talent on here! I wouldn't know where to draw the line! I know I always get excited when someone fav's a photos of mine, so I'm going to make a point to start doing that. Sorry to all those fav's out there that I may have missed! :)
I try to be generous. I consider the fav a "Well done!" and like to think of it a a "Golden Rule" kind of thing. I know how much I appreciate being faved so why not be generous in return.
I have 535 favs for the same reason you said -- they move me in some way and I want to revisit them. I do look at my favorites and always enjoy it so! I'm so glad we have this feature.
@reba I did actually! And I agree, you have a lovely collection;-) Isn't it nice, it's like having our own personal gallery to view whenever we please....
