I am really excited, I have just been asked to be the official photographer for an International Film Festival happening here in Perth - http://www.revelationfilmfest.org/
It is a non-paying gig over ten days, but I am so excited that I am starting to feel ill, as it will be the first thing like this that I have ever done.
Does anyone have any suggestions, tips, thoughts? Or critiques from my photography that I have displayed on this site so I can ensure that I do OK? (Or prerferable do absolutely awesome...)
There will be red carpet events, Q&A sessions, some media stuff and more I am sure, I am just not sure what!!!
i would suggest making sure that you have an agreement with the folks about your maintaining full ownership/ copyright of your photographs and discuss compensation for future use... they will most likely be making a lot of money off of your images.
Use your "official photographer" status to full advantage and gain access everywhere for behind the scene photos that others may not get. Don't be intimidated being new, just move through like a professional and get your shots! Being amongst the other more experienced shooters, make sure to watch what they do and learn from them. Have fun!!!
@kalexa --- Yep, I totally agree. Just go in and look for those shots that most people won't see. Don't be afraid to ask people if you can shoot their portraits. Otherwise just walk through shooting as much interesting views as your can. Don't forget the closeups too. Mix it up. Congratulations!

one thing i would say is make sure you get the focus right. Make sure your subjects have the best focus and the right exposure.
otherwise make sure you get good candids, plenty of close ups and make sure you get the eyes in focus
good luck
youll do fine
