Canon lens sale?

I noticed some good prices on Canon lenses at Amazon, like this one:

Does anyone know if these sales last a long time, or should I ask for my Christmas presents early? ;)

I'm just a newbie to all this, so I haven't shopped around for lenses much. I would love a 50mm or 85mm, but that Telephoto I think would be nice for my kid's soccer and t-ball games!

BTW: any time you get your presents early I say ask ;)

Sales are often on Amazon (i've noticed) but if it's a lens you really, really want I'd ask for it now :)

I have this lens for soccer and if you can check Craigslist you'll find it for $150 or less (depending on your area)...I use it a lot and you really do need telephoto for sports :) No doubt!

I also was at Target today and noticed the Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Telephoto Zoom Lens on sale for $99. I found some not so great reviews online, but for $99 I might try it out.

Your usa prices are un-real. I am looking at a 100mm macro 2.8 for €599.00. thats $862.00

Is that in American dollars? I've seen 55-250mm lenses retail here at an average of $199 (Australian dollars; new, not used). Not sure but if the amazon.com lens is new, then $181 is a pretty good price :)
