Scott Kelby has some amazing books for Photoshop. He has his own website too. I have been using it for over 10 years now and don't think you could ever fully learn every step. Soooo much to have fun with.
Great choice of software BTW. I am a Photoshop freak...lol
ooooh I have CS5 too :D it's super cool! I second the photoshopessentials.com thing. helped me out a few times, and there are so many cool stuff on there OMW careful not to loose track of time ;)
When I bought CS5 it came with a "free gift" which was a choice of a few things - one of them was a free month on lynda.com. They have really good online courses on photoshop. If that's available I recommend it. Otherwise kelbytraining.com have great videos as well at $29 per month. You can sign up for a month or two, well worth it. Most of the videos are well over an hour long (broken up into small topics). I don't know if you've used Adobe Camera Raw, but it will do 90% of your processing of photos, so I suggest you start learning that first.
@kimmiesue Elements 8 is what I have been using and I find it quite easy to use but now I want to do some more advanced editing, I use it for levels and cropping and creating album pages with various layers
I want to start trying to creating magic with photoshop instead of the more basic sort of stuff that I have been doing, I want things like mask layers and such which Elements 9 has but thought I might go up to the full version...
I have always liked Elements and it is a good starting point... try it
Hey help me out...I'm still trying to figure out which photo editing program to get...I'm so confused reading about CS5, Elements 8...etc..also worried about spending more time editing than shooting...doing alright with the Canon Digital Photo Pro....ideas..??????
