Any ideas what this is please?! My burnet moth got identified in minutes back in June, so I gathered it was worth asking you clever people about this too.
I would be passing this onto @dcr@robv and @wahyusp - I think it is a young beetle that is either about to moult or just has. the long antennae is very cool, very Longicorn, but the body is not.
@miley89@triciaanddazzle@mikew@bobfoto thanks guys. I'll post a top view tonight if I have time. It did look like a beetle from above. You can actually see the "spring" of his hind legs!
I'm not sure where you are but I think it is a type of flea beetle.
Aphthona flava Guillebeau has been established at several locations in Minnesota. This species tends to have an orange-bronze appearance and is slightly larger than the other flea beetle species. Adults emerge significantly later than the other flea beetle species (typically in late June or early July). To date, A. flava is the least redistributed flea beetle species for leafy spurge in Minnesota. This species also originates from Europe.
Is that any help? Try googling the name and see some images. :-)
Thanks Tricia :)
