Valerie, I lived in Baton Rouge for many years. If you get a chance, I suggest:
1. The new (circa 1930's) state capitol building (beautiful statues, and magnificent architecture of the building). It's the tallest capitol bld. in the U.S. and was the place where Huey P. Long was assassinated. There are 48 steps leading to the entrance with each state listed in order of admittance to the Union.
2. The campus of LSU (famous clock tower in the quad, Death Valley, and Mike the Tiger has a new habitat to check out)
3. Downtown at the Old State Capitol building (beautiful grounds, historic interests, and near the Mississippi River)

I'm not sure I can make it to the LSU campus. Will they let me in wearing Orange & Blue? LOL
