It's Fathers Day here so I'd just like to say "Happy Fathers Day" to all the dads out there. Let's post photo's of our dad's today to honour them...here's mine.
My Dad died quite a few years ago now, but today I had a great day with my kids enjoying spending time with their Dad. We started the day with opening presents in bed, that was fun, then we barbequed breakfast, and spent the day just doing 'stuff'.
@winshez@frameit In what country are you? Here in the United States, Father's Day is in June. It's interesting to me what holidays fall on what days in other countries!
My birthday, for instance, is May 1st. Here in the States, that is also "May Day", and Spring celebrations occur around the nation, to some degree. But in Italy, May 1st is Labor Day. Our Labor day is THIS weekend (Monday, actually).

@2thgirl Hey Robyn.... I am in the land down under, Australia.... Fathers Day is today, Mothers day is in May, Labour Day is October. It is interesting how things are different around the world and experiencing different seasons at different times
@frameit Oh! That makes sense. I know someone in Adelaide, and it's very interesting to get her weather updates that are so opposite ours! We should be getting into Autumn pretty soon, but this week is supposed to be hot (unlike the rest of the summer; it's been very mild here in Oregon!)
Also, I love all the slang she uses, and sometimes I have no idea what she's saying!
@2thgirl Robyn I'm in Australia & as @frameit Tracy said it really is interesting how the same celebrations can be held on different days of the year in different countries. Even within Australia some of our special days are different here in Western Australia to other states.
@threeplusone sounds like you all had a great day...it's been 10 years since dad passed...my husband is away at work & won't be back for another week, but me & the kids spent the day with my father-in-law & are now heading out to dinner with friends.
Here is my Popper, he is 71 years old and still scuba dives...oh and also he has been blind for 30 years. He is fearless and the most wonderful father!
