I've been posting photos to Daily Shoot for about a year and a half. It was a great place to go for inspiration and support. We all had the feeling that something was up because the assignments started to get repetitive towards the end. They had a way of putting it on "autopilot" when they were too busy to monitor the website. But I was quite surprised at how sudden it was. They made the announcement on October 5th and said that the site would be shutting down the very next day! The announcement was posted here, in Duncan Davidson's blog.
They did leave the list of assignments up and available for viewing, so you can still access it for ideas. It's here:
I may have visited their site once, or twice, but never use the assignments, my hat goes off the the person(s) running the site for lasting as long as they did. It is difficult to come up with ideas every day, especially after the first year. We all should know, if we're beyond the 365 mark.

I will miss the site, too. And will be even more grateful that we still have this forum, our "365 Project" for sharing photos!
