Kinda Very Disappointed.............. too bad really.

October 18th, 2011
I don't really know what seems to be the problem but i think there must be. I am experiencing this since August when i couldn't upload most, as in most of my photos. at first i thought it was the net, or the server is down or 365 is upgrading or under maintenance then at some point maybe it's the size of the photos, but i check this and everything is just fine.

It is Kinda/ really disappointing when i took pictures and wanted to share here and then it would just not being uploaded. The bars would not continue to it's full uploading but the confirm date will appear and when you click it it will just go directly to Home and not been uploaded. 80% of my photos can't be uploaded. why? that is one Big I don't know.

So frustrating to have photos that can't be uploaded. I just want to find out why?
I haven't uploaded photos for 5 days now because i don't want to get frustrated on it and maybe if this is still the scenario I might not be able to continue simply because I will be left behind as days goes by and might not be able to bounce back because i lose patience and interest. AND I'M WORRIED! Because i love 365.

I hope somebody could help me or at least explain. At some point i though i need to become a member first before i can upload photos. I can but if i will experience the same thing that would be very bad experience.

Thanks for reading, I just want to express what i feel right now because i tried uploading 3 of my photos to catch up but too bad it can't be uploaded.
New Photos, Old photos recent photos all are the same. CAN'T BE UPLOADED.

You've come so far it would be a real shame to quit now! I'm sure someone can suggest something to try. Good luck!!

@blueburn11 a shot in the dark here..have you recently started using any new photog processing program? a possibility is your photo's are being saved as their "in house" file type...I would make sure its in jpeg or whatever other format this sight allows?...also have you had any issues with your current ISP? is it dial up? might be a bandwith issue
October 18th, 2011
Don't know what the problem is, but did you try emailing them or using the simple uploader (see the bottom of the page for upload)?
October 18th, 2011
I'm so sorry to hear about your hassle... I definitely understand your frustration. You can of course upload even if you're not an ACE member, so that is not the question. Let's ask Ross @Scrivna about this. I'm sure he can help you. And don't quit, please!

Got an idea, if the problem persist at your end... I can try uploading the photos for you. Let's check if I can. Of course, I need to access your account. You just change the password later. You can send me your photos by email. Lemme know if this is a good idea. :-)
October 18th, 2011
have you tried to email them instead of uploading. I usually have no problem in posting if I go through the email.

Also, could the size of the photos be a problem.
October 18th, 2011
I am sure you checked your files, but I had this issue once and realized I was trying to upload a psd (photoshop) file. I am pretty sure only jpegs can be used... I hope this has helped you.
October 18th, 2011
Do you just have words in the title? I have noticed that when my title has punctuation, the upload won't happen. Sorry for your troubles.
October 18th, 2011
Have you checked your files as everyone above has already asked? Currently you can upload JPEG, GIF and PNG files. All files uploaded should be under 5MB in size. Let us know how it goes...
October 18th, 2011
I've had no problem uploading any of my 17 photos since I joined - until today. In trying to upload a photo I get the same symptoms as Rhoiz. The only difference that I can see is that this photo has a width to height ratio of nearly 3:1. Are there any limits on that? Will have to try another photo!
October 18th, 2011
I was having a similar problem when I started playing around with HDR in PS. The program wasn't saving the photo as an 8 bit JPEG. Jpeg is the only file extension that 365 recognizes. Try looking at how your editing program is saving the files. I learned about it in this discussion
October 18th, 2011
Pretty sure it isnt the site .Sounds like its either the file type or the file size that you are having trouble with. A few times when i tried to upload a really huge photo it did to me exactly what its doing to you. Try lowering the file size or making sure its in the correct format. You shouldnt have any problems uploading.
October 18th, 2011
Contact @scrivna - I'm sure he can help you sort it out. I've always found this to be a fantastically user friendly program, so I think you are having a highly unusual experience and that it can be worked out. Don't give up until you've tried getting help from Ross.
October 18th, 2011
@shutterbugger Thanks Jenn, well i just hope it would not come to that. :(
October 18th, 2011
@bleuburn11-probably your uploading too much SELFIE (again..?) hAhA..just kidding you,i feel ur frustration, buddy Please don't give up...try calling 911 or10-96(formerly Nikkers), let's see what they can do...if not---i will start saying my prayers, let me know, ok ?--Just take it easy ,breath and take more pictures for now.!!((((hug )))),my friend).
October 18th, 2011
Since I have been using Google Chrome ( suggestion by a 365er) I have had no problems. Maybe you could try that?
October 18th, 2011
@loztsoul Thanks Trevor, But all of my photos are jpeg and i never change anything since i started last year whenever i upload. I am using a broadband to its fullest. :(
October 18th, 2011
@laynesgram Thanks Laynalynn. Yup I tried emailing and using the basic uploader but still can't upload :(
October 18th, 2011
@brumbe Thanks Paula, yes i tried emailing it but it took years to complete and never did complete in the long run. I also use the basic uploader here in 365 but no luck too. The size is less and never exceed the required. still can't upload. really too sad. it chooses photos to be uploaded lucky if one will be uploaded , but my question is why most photos can't be uploaded where in they are the same format, and size does not exceed the required one? bizarre and weird.
October 18th, 2011
@msartsy Thanks Courtney ,All of my photos I am uploading is in jpeg and I am aware that whenever i used photoshop this has to convert to jpeg when saving it. to another folder.
October 18th, 2011
@aspada Yes Amy, all my photos are in jpeg and not exceeding the required photo size. tahts why I am so so so puzzled. :(
October 18th, 2011
@north_ender you're lucky Keith, I don't know about the height if there are requirements but to my surprise and wondering I've been uploading since last year and never had any problem doing it except if 365 is under maintenance or the server is down or 365 is upgrading. but this problem i had started last August and till now very few of my photos are being uploaded.
October 18th, 2011
I almost wonder if it is your computer or connection. But I am no savvy computer type of girl.
October 18th, 2011
@shadesofgrey I will look nto it shades, Thanks, but I am really puzzled because i used to do the same since last year and never have a problem at all, I never changed anything the way i use to do it before and this problem started last August when most of my photos can't be uploaded anymore.. really sad.
October 18th, 2011
What about file name? I've discovered that files that contain some symbols are not accepted. It looks like they're uploading, then nothing appears. Try renaming the files
October 18th, 2011
@canon4life Thanks for the input, but i checked the sized and it never exceed the required size for the site. That's why i am puzzled.
October 18th, 2011
@reba Actually I already post this issue before because I am beginning to experience it and Ross actually replied that 365 is under maintenance for improvement and some members are experiencing the delay and not getting it through when uploading. But now i don't think the system is being under maintenance.
October 18th, 2011
@jodimuli HAHAHAHA Well I guess selfie is not a good Project, yes maybe because this started last August and that is my Birthday month doing my very first project. MYSELF! HA HA HA HA Or somebody got fed up with my face so I was Blocked ha ha ha ha.
Well i really do hope i could figure it out with the help of others otherwise I don't know because today I tried uploading 3 photos New, Old and Recent but none of them successfully been uploaded. hu hu hu hu. so Im very sad and disappointed and tired trying.
October 19th, 2011
@dejongdd Wow you've got a point there Deb. Normally I change file name when I save it after i process or after i just got it from the cam. sometimes I don't changed at all, sometime yeah with numbers. I will try That and observe and maybe just maybe it could result something.
Do i have to change dthe file name or leave it as is? does file name with numbers can affect the uploading?
October 19th, 2011
@buttercup Thanks Mary, I will try that .
October 19th, 2011
@bugik Thanks so much Bugik, I will let you know Mwah!
October 19th, 2011
have you tried to upload from a different computer? is you computer on the older side? or is it full and therefore works slowly?

the reason i as these things was, yes I had that very same experience some time ago... but for me it had alot to do with the extremely old/ancient useless crap computer I was using at work. My own laptop had blown up a couple of months before and I hadn't yet been able to replace it, so I was struck using that horrid machine... and exactly the same stuff happend to me as you described above. I tried it on other peoples computers however and the process worked fine, which is why I realised it's not the site, but the computer...

My solutions were to either, use someone elses computer to upload (though that was a pain to arrange etc), or my best way was I used to email them to myself (see in your account settings, everyone has a 365 email address to be able to send images to be ready to upload.... getting you to the screen when you add the captions etc....
October 19th, 2011
@blueburn11 Usually you can just change the file name before you hit "upload". You shouldn't have to change the actual name of the file. In my experience, the hyphen doesn't cause problems but other symbols like the apostrophe, question mark, and backslash have.
October 19th, 2011
Hopefully it gets fixed for you soon then. Sorry you are having trouble.
October 19th, 2011
@shutterbugger @loztsoul @laynesgram @bugik @brumbe @canon4life @dejongdd @wadey @buttercup @jodimuli @reba @shadesofgrey @north_ender @aspada @cfitzgerald @msartsy Thanks so so so much. NOW IM VERY HAPPY I guess i was able to figured it out why most of my photos can't be uploaded. It is because my Adobe Flash Player is not properly installed so it chooses photos when uploading. I tried uploading the photos using my Netbook those can't be uploaded because it's a new laptop i bought last august.
so i used my net then i download The Adobe Flash Player, Adobe Reader X actually and to my very very very surprise all photos i can't uploaded were uploaded. wow! can't help my excitement he he he he.
Thanks guys for helping and sharing inputs. :)
October 19th, 2011
@blueburn11 Awesome! I'll check them out!
October 19th, 2011
So glad you got it figured out.
October 19th, 2011
@brumbe @dejongdd endless thanks :)
October 19th, 2011
Oh so happy this worked out for you and you didn't give up your project. I've always found some help here when I asked for it - pretty amazing group of people.
October 20th, 2011
YAY!!!! So glad!
October 20th, 2011
Hey you're back in business so to speak. would've been sad if you quit..I enjoy your pictures too much.
October 20th, 2011
@bruni Thanks so much Bruni, as always you're always been there browsing my photos. That really meant a lot. Mwah!. Thanks :)
October 20th, 2011
@reba Thanks Reba, yes you are right that's why i love this 365 because it is not only you can showcase your talent in photography because people here are all very nice and helpful, i may not know them all , nor following or following me, but you can actually feel their presence whenever they comment on other works i browse.
October 21st, 2011
In the past when I had trouble uploading, if I signed out and back in, it always seemed to work afterwards.
October 21st, 2011
@blueburn11 Have you tried using the simple uploader? I have the same problem - I'm assuming something hasn't updated on my web browser as it isn't just here but flickr as well. I can upload through the simple uploader just not the normal one.
October 21st, 2011
@naturalp Sarah, i already figured it out my problem. My adobe flash player is not properly installed. I'm using a new laptop and i didn't notice it.i compared it with my other netbook which has the Adobe Reader X, i downloaded adobe Reader X to my new laptop and uploading works perfectly now.

before i tried that basic uploader, i tried emailing also but still my photos can't be uploaded till i found out the problem why. Imagine i was experiencing this for more than 2 months and it is really disappointing.
But now it's ok.
