Ever get your own photo as a suggestion from 365 (the photos the monkeys pick which they think you may like)? I just did. Pretty funny. I'm also surprised how many times they pick bugs and spiders and eyes for me - which I can pretty much do without. Maybe they're trying to tell me something . . .
I get at least 2 of my own photos everytime I bring up the suggestions page. A lot of the time, as well, the photos on my suggestions page are photos I've already looked at for the day.
@mej2011 - There's the section at the bottom which is supposed to be the photos you looked at most recently. Do you mean that in the upper section - the program's suggestions, you get the ones you've already looked at for the day? Just curious.
@mej2011@reba I feel like this at the moment cause I don't know what the Suggestions Page is, where to find it, and therefore how many of my own awesome photos I might find.

Unfortunately, that feature is only available to ace members. However, I have complete confidence that you'll figure out a way to view your own awesomeness.
@mej2011 Dammit. I have a Flickr Pro account, I've got my website and blog, I've got a video site I pay for (Netflix...get your mind out of the gutter), and yet I never upgraded to an Ace account.
I even bought an Ace account for someone once as a gift. I need an upgrade haha.
@mej2011@jasonbarnette You know, honestly, I basically agree with melissa - I guess what I like most about it is a relatively inexpensive way to thank the awesome people (person????? - I hope it's more than ross) who makes this happen for us. And, my fav benefit is seeing who it is when someone faves one of my photos. The stats just give me a headache, so I hardly look at them. And the suggestions seem so off from what I really like - more spiders and bugs today.

The majority of the times a photo of mine gets fav'd the person tells me in a comment, so that feature isn't really a big deal to me. It's really just a headache as I now feel more obligated to take and post photos. Ironically, I've done more "fillers" since I've gotten the Ace membership, than probably my entire project prior to that. And today, I literally posted the same photo twice, well different edits, but still the same.

@reba I have seen something similar to this in a previous discussion. Ross said that it may be because the circle you travel in is smaller than others....meaning the people you follow all follow each other. The suggestions page goes off of who you follow and who they follow so if you all follow each other, that is all the suggestions will show.
I'm sure that this isn't the best explanation but I'm hope you get the general idea.
@shadesofgrey - Ohhh, thanks - that makes sense. I'd noticed that was happening recently - that people I am following appear to be following one another more than I was aware of in the past. So, I'm guessing, that explains my own photo showing up in the suggestions for my viewing pleasure. I guess the message is it's all getting a little incestuous in my 365 sphere. I try to add new people regularly, but I also try to really comment every day, so it can get out of hand if I follow too many.

I'm already planning on buying an Ace upgrade for 2012. I fully plan to use my three albums daily. Not sure what I'm doing yet, but I've got several ideas. One of them might by an entire year of self-portraits. I've recently taken to shooting some in a variety of ways and each using a different lighting setup. Might keep that up, I dunno.
Also: three ways in which I'm awesome.
1. We've got this conversation going about my awesomeness for nearly 30 minutes now.
2. We dragged @shadesofgrey into this conversation, although he has yet to acknowledge my awesomeness which will only cost him later.
3. By the time you finished reading this, you're still thinking of my awesomeness.

You should use one album for black and whites. My plan was one album for my daily photo (hasn't really happened), one for fillers, and one for edits from the other two albums.
And you felt the need to prove your awesomeness because?
I was thinking one would be my daily photos, the other a single particular theme like self-portraits for a year, and the third a particular technique. B&W actually sounds really, really good since you've convinced me to re-examine a majority of my color photos.
So maybe...dailies, B&W, and the third will be a different theme each week?

Last night was movie night so I post my reply to this thread, close the computer and eat dinner and watch said movie. Dammit, I missed out, sounds like you guys had fun though!
@pwallis About that.......So I had to post 4 days of filler when I didn't want to because someone at work needed to borrow my camera for work purposes (aerial photos and had never been in a helicopter before so I gave up my seat). I loaned it to him and then he didn't get back until waaaay after I left. So I get my camera back, then the guy the pictures were for needed to put them onto a cd. Well stupid work computers don't allow thumb drives because they *might* have a virus (and I brought the wrong camera to computer cord in my rush to get out the door)....so we go over to someplace that someone might have a personal computer, get sidetracked/separated with work and such and he ends up taking my memory card and it's reader home with him for a 4 day weekend.....GRRR. Well no problem, thats why I have a backup memory card right? I get this great idea for a photo because my day has just been crappy and now, the first bright spot, inspiration! I put said backup memory card into said camera and...........error code on my camera, no clickety click. I check the lock on the card and yep, it's unlocked. My camera won't recognize my second card! I have been debating put up more fillers until I get my card back today or tomorrow. I don't know though, the whole last of the month of October was fillers...we will see. I still have a huge hole in July that I can't seem to fill even though I have like 50 great suggestions. No time no time no time.

@jennywren - You have to be an ACE member to get this benefit. Then, at the dropdown under "Browse" one of the topics is "Suggestions." It's the same place where you find "Popular," "Latest," and such.
I have just gone back and looked again a couple of times and again no less than three of my photos and it is some different ones and some the same Evidently I need to keep doing what I have been doing. This is almost as good as being on the PP!
