Carrying my Canon EOS60D everywhere on a daily basis can be a bit cumbersome and I'm seeking an alternative compact.
Following a days research to suit my budget, I've found two cameras which sort of hit the spot, but I'm torn as to which one to plump for.....any thoughts/advise please ?
Cheers

Do you mean the gF2? The gH2 is nearly as big as the 60D.
I am considering the GF2 and theNex5N myself.
Both receive good reviews. The major pro for the Sony is the sensor size. Its sensor is roughly the same size as that of your 60D. The Panasonic's sensor is smaller by a fair bit. Here is a sensor size comparison.
The major pro for the Panasonic is lenses. There are considerable more lenses available for the Panasonic.
And the Panasonic is just over half the price.
@kjarn@lilbudhha thank you both :), very much appreciate it.
whilst the lens choice is limited on the sony, they do have an 18-200mm that has a decent range for such a little compact, which is more that adequate for my needs.....so i guess, based on the reviews and accepting a few trade offs, looks like I may be plumping for the nex5. Jacobs, here I come for some test driving :)
Thanks again!!
@kjarn ooooh yes!! its a beauty, but the body alone is over £1100.00 :0, plus its not available for a few weeks yet.......well, from Jacobs anyway.
I might have to do a bit more investigating; it is tempting. Its like buying a car. you want the Ghia model, but can only really afford the GL model, but you manage to convince yourself, buying the GL is too much of a slight compromise, and ''what's another £10 a month on the HP'' :)
I guess in this instance I may have to use my CC......maybe.
i'll keep you posted.
@9gpie My thoughts are exactly the same as yours. I like that is has a viewfinder, more choice of lenses and is faster but it costs a bomb! Thinking, thinking..................
@kjarn Thank you for the info.
In speaking to a counter man at a camera store, he said he preferred the Nex 5n to the Nex 7 as far as the image was concerned. And there will be a viewfinder addon available for the 5 soon, though a bit spendy.
@kjarn@lilbudhha your feed back have been tremendous today. Whilst I would like a camera for the 365 meet on Saturday in London since my wife has taken the 60D on her business trip for next 10 days :0( I think i might wait to get the NEX-7.
Whilst getting the NEX5 is tempting and has a short term fix, i think I'll hang on and by default; plus, it'll give me chance to save few more pennies :))
I'll just use my hipstamatic app on my iphone this weekend.
