Card votes have been counted!!

November 28th, 2011

THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!
I'm overwhelmed by the support this community gives every day but this was something else!!!
After 568 views and 199 votes, the numbers have been counted up and here's how it stands....
1. Candy Canes - 31
2. Snowman - 102
3. Warm Feet - 59
4. Red Christmas - 20
5. Santa - 51
6. Cuppa - 18

The clear winner is #2.. Snowman!!!

I was actually very glad to see that others were just as indecisive as I am. If you said 2 or 5...I took that as 2 votes.

I printed them off at a whopping cost of $1.20 (so I could show off the finished product) and put them on the card stock that I already had. They look great on black...don't ya think? I'll get my Snowman cards made and out in the mail by the end of the week :)

OH AND.....I had my candy cane shot as my profile pic on fb, a friend saw it and asked if I would make up 25 cards for her. I was soooo excited!!! Is this the start of something? Only time will tell

Thanks again guys.....you're all amazing xo :o)

Awesome job! They all look fantastic. You know in all the years I have been toying with photography I never once thought to take some non-kid related Christmas shots!! I may try it next year!! Thanks for inspiring me!

@positronicmommy I've made a few birthday and thank you cards from a few of my shots and they seem to go over well. Once you have all the stuff in the house and a few prints done, it's so easy and WAY better than standing in Hallmark humming and hawing over which sappy card to choose! Go for it...and you're welcome!

YAY! I loved that snowman's smiley little face! Making your own cards with photos is a new idea for me, I'll keep going and think on it for next year if I can find someone who processes them.....
Hoping your card brings extra smiles to everyone this Christmas! :)

Awesome!
November 29th, 2011
who did your printing - did you do it - i was looking at trying to get some professionally done to sell but the prices are mad
November 29th, 2011
@kmrtn6 I didn't do it, printer ink is too expensive! Took it to Walmart...instant print for .20 cents each. (would have been cheaper if I was willing to wait an hour or so, but I'm impatient) I'm thinking that I can make these for under $1 each!

@amyhughes I wouldn't say a business, just one person....but you never know right? Word gets around! Once it snows, I'll take some snowy Christmas shots for next years cards!

Awesome cards!

@shutterbugger - then did you put them on folded card to mount? - you know i never thought of using the photo kiosks lol

@kmrtn6 are you in the UK? I get mine printed at Walmart, or wherever they have photo printing. I buy blank cards from Michael's craft store, photo corners to stick the photo onto the card (that way they can keep the photo and not the whole card if they wanted AND sometimes the glue puckers the photo) and blank index/recipe cards to glue inside. I guess you wouldn't need the index cards if you're using white cards. Since mine are black, you need either a white card inside or a white pen. I also use an acid free glue stick.

It's dead easy. I did these 6 cards up in less than 10 minutes! I just emailed 38 photos to walmart this morning to be printed. Only cost me just under $8. I'm hitting Michael's in a day or two for more card to make that order up...I'll figure out how much each card costs to make and I'll let you know. I'll bet it's just under a dollar!

lol, yeah in UK, guess the walmart is the same as our asda i think, and there is a craft shop about 8 miles away but could order off web, its not a bad idea, got my cards for this year now, but gives scope for next year x
