I don't want this to turn into a political discussion, I know there will be people on here who are both for and against the strikes today. This community always seems to handle all topics with a great respect for other people but I don't want to risk causing arguments or bad feelings between members.
So please leave opinions here before continuing....
...left them behind? Good, I'll carry on!
I took a lot of photos of the rally and protest near me today, has anyone else got photos to share? If you do please add them to this topic.
Here are mine so far, I'm likely to add more this evening though!
A collage of many people taking part in the strikes
and one which I thought was begging for sc:
Lets see yours :)
Are you striking? xx.. And I would say I am having a great day off school but to be honest im bored and rather be at school but as most of the teachers are on strike I cant :/
@raggleroo
I would be striking but I booked today off to use up annual leave months ago. I currently work for the NHS but the organisation I work in has been privatised and tomorrow will be run by a private company instead. (Which is why I needed to use up my annual leave or I would have lost it)
@raggleroo The area of the NHS I work for (Coventry and Warwickshire Substance Misuse Services) was put up for tender earlier this year and the contract was given to another company so as of midnight tonight the substance misuse services for this area will be run by a different company instead of the NHS.
I did a play on words with the Occupy Wall Street movement in the States. I called it Occupy 20 Feet. It was a really small protest near where I live. Leaving my political views at the curb. ;)
It's a crappy photo--I was in traffic. I know that they want to be "seen" but I think it's irresponsible to choose one of the most dangerous intersections in the state of MA for their protesting. No one probably saw them anyway...I am serious, at this spot, you'd better be paying attention to driving and nothing else,
Here are 3 more from today. If you're interested I have written many of my thoughts about today with each photo but in keeping with my own rule I won't add them here!
I didn't get any shots but I'm behind any organised voice against the rotten and bent commercialist World Order - like the picture above says end the war and tax the rich. I more or less lost my job this week (hours reduced so low they became non existent) so pension seems a luxury but good luck to all the PS workers.
