interesting how "new" this technology really is. just how many amazing photographers we know of are really dead? i mean, considering photography didn't really get much of a following until the 50s on...
that being said, who's your favorite living photographer(s)? do you have one or any?
i've been following this particular guy's work for awhile now and bought a couple of his pics for my place, even... i love what he sees.
wow love that guy "Photographica", thanks for the link! I like Steve McCurry but really have only really discovered photographers through this site so look forward to seeing some other names come up!
Mine would have to be olivia bee... canadian teenager with a camera. She has the most beautiful eye and every one of her shots is unique and poignant. http://www.oliviabee.com/
Wish I could post some of her shots here but please check out her website, you won't be disappointed :)
Oh, and I thought of another one - I follow this chap on Google+ and he is amazeballs - Mihailo Radičević, https://plus.google.com/114369704013100203178/posts. And, yes, I have to cut and paste his name because I'm not trying to spell that on my own pre-coffee.
This, sadly, has degraded from copying and pasting to the point that is nowhere near its original. My favorite photographer is my daughter Megan. She has a very unique POV. I can say that about everything she does. She lives on the mesa with my granddaughter, Pepper, and built her adobe house by hand. I have hundreds of wonderful photos that she has taken. It's something I wish she would consider doing professionally but she will probably become a social worker! This photo titled "Mesa Baby" is of my granddaughter when she was about 14 months old.
@fueast glad you like his stuff! having spent time in Iceland on a few occasions I find his portraits completely intriguing. They really show the spirit of people working and living in an at times forbidding environment.
@fueast hahaha, oooops! probably not....BBC4 showed his film Last Days of the Arctic as part of their Iceland season, let's hope they'll run a repeat ;-)
Everyone remember books? While I am not a big fan of his portrait work, too much bnw for my colourful taste; Andrew Zuckerman's book titled "BIRD" is truly spectacular! Wowee!
i am loving these, guys... thanks so much for sharing all of your picks. i've got some new faves and possible new pics i'll be purchasing in the not so distant future!
@jasonbarnette Love that Ben Canales website! i must find out how to legally borrow music copyright for my slideshows.. That's the best Crater Lake pic I've ever seen! What an amazing place! If you ever get to Oregon, GO THERE!! You'll totally cream yourself!
@tabbycat There is a way, actually. Vimeo. That's why I am using them. With either the free or Pro accounts you get access to hundreds of songs for use on Vimeo-only posts. However, you can make the slideshow using any software you like, you just have to upload to their site in the end.
I just paid $60 for a yearly subscription to their Pro service. I can upload 10 HD videos per week and 5GB of storage. It's awesome! You should really check it out.
well he would say that..... what?
