myself and @colie would like to thank everyone who took the time to vote for our photos. I have taken on the hosting for this next challenge and have gone back to my painting roots.....
The subject for the next Artist Challenge #54 is PAULA REGO (born 1935) a painter born in Portugal although she is a naturalised British citizen.
Rego is a prolific painter and printmaker, and in earlier years was also a producer of collage work. Her most well known work consists of depictions of folk tales and images of young girls, the work always has a sense of magical realism; quirky contemporary mythologies pointing to an underlying psychology and sexuality, through a feminine view point. Of particular importance has been her insistence that her paintings must be built on a 'story' - not the illustration of a narrative, but emerging directly from a psychological situation producing a realisation of personal significance.

this is my take on her piece 'Goosey Goosey Gander'
For those of you who have never participated in the Artist’s challenge, it is fairly straightforward. You can either recreate one of Paula's existing artworks, or even better, use the look and feel of her work to inspire you to take a photograph in her style, and try and capture the range of emotions that Paula captured in her work and imbues in the viewers of her work.
Challenge starts today Thursday 13th June and continues until midnight Friday 21st June. it would be great if you could say on your entries which piece/s was the inspiration.
