Is it permitted to post, say, two-seven photos for the theme that were taken the same day? As in, I get we have a limit of seven entries (one for each day) and we've established that they have to be taken within that week, but because there is a seven entry limit, can there not be more than one from the same date? Does anyone else know if that's possible? (Not that I have any intention of posting older photos in my actual 365 album - but just a thought in case I were to use one of the other available albums for theme shots.)
Hmmmm .... I do remember that the picture had to be taken and uploaded during the theme week to be included. So, I'd say yes as long as those dates fall within the week, it's ok.

In my opinion, it's a go! And, as Steven said, it has to fit in your album before you can tag it for the theme so you won't have room for any other photos that week.
I look at it like this. theme pictures have to be in your default album..but you can upload any other pictures (except theme- pictures) in your ace albums ..again one per day per album. if you have empty spaces you can fill them in with the date that is vacant in your album. Hoping this will help.
I'm not sure why you would have to enter theme shots in your default album as you paid to have multiples, and I've never seen that as a written rule. As far as I know as long as you take a pic during the given week and it is entered for the dates given then the photos are entered provided you tag. I don't think there is a rule that says they have to be taken and entered on the same day, but hey what do I know?
My theme photos have not been in my default album as I use that strictly for what is happening in my life that day. By chance one might fit in with the theme but in general I put it in a "Theme" album. My photos for the theme (not that I have done many) are always taken through that week but my feeling is that it would be fair to use 2 from the same day as long as they were taken in that week and you have your limit of 7. That is just my feeling on it but it will be interesting to see what Ross says.
