The sky is a favorite subject of mine. These are this year's photos.
Stratocumulus lenticularis
At 6pm we are cumulus and then at 7:20pm we are cirrus.
Cumulus Congestus
Lenticular Cloud
Stratocumulus Perlucidus
My goal for this year is to name all the clouds, if possible. I've joined up with Peter/Zipp @sleepdozer57 to put our collection together. Mine will be named if they are in the mix. Search "cloud-collect".
This was this past Wednesday, the evening of the massive tornado outbreak in the southern United States. Fortunately in our area despite a tornado watch, we only ended up with some wind and rain.
Glad to know I'm not the only one obsessed with clouds lol. I tend to hold myself back because I don't want to bore people but after seeing all these I'll have to use them more often :-)
Anywho here's some of mine.
I have more but I'll leave it at that lol
@roth Awesome!

Have you ever seen the 365 Clouds Project? This is actually what got me started on a 365 project - but I knew that clouds every day would be too limiting for me. http://www.clouds365.com/year2/
@ali1974 Faved!
hi.. i think this are called Distrails - opposite to Contrails (airplane made trails in the sky)
"When a plane cuts out a gap as it flies through a cloud layer.. made when heat and turbulence of its engines make the cloud droplets evaporate, or when it introduces icing nuclei that encourage the cloud's supercooled droplets to freeze and fall below.." from The Cloud Collectors Handbook by Gavin Pretor-Pinney http://cloudappreciationsociety.org/
Congratulations to all of you I am so glad this was not a Competition, no way I could have picked the best 5 - they are all wonderful and thank you for sharing with the group. Now I must get off and do some work, spent ages admiring all the clouds.
