This is the third official Monday of this challenge.
Make a self-portrait every week, based on a new theme.
The new theme will be posted on Monday.
It looked like you were really inspired by last weeks theme, a lot of us were on the Popular Page! So great to see how we all looked if we had lived in another era.
Mimo ( @mimosa ) asked me if I wanted to start this topic for this month, so here is the new challenge.
This weeks selfies must be based on this weeks theme: FAIRY-TALES
You can think of the old ones, the really old sagas, the Disney-tales or the modern day fairy-tales, just what you like...
Thank you @izzymathie Izzy, for letting me use your idea!
And this weeks selfies are also date-restricted. You only can take and post them this week!
You can post your self-portrait in this thread and tag it with monday-sp.
Have fun!!! I'm sure we'll all look magical this week!
And just for me, if you have a great idea for the next challenge, please post it here, it will help me to keep this thread going!
Ooh, that's really got me thinking @geertje. Not sure what I'll come up with but it's great to have the whole week to mull it over. If I can think of anything for the next theme I'll let you know :o) xx
Oh this is going to be so much fun! Please please please let me get home early from work this week before the sun goes down and have enough energy left to play around with the camera :-)
This will be a perfect way to start off Year 2 here on the 365project website. I began posting photos here on August 1, 2010! I wanted to do something special for my post today. Thanks for the great idea! I'll be thinking about this one during the day.
Right now... the only thing I could come up with would be "Sleepy" from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs... haha!
Not quite as I imagined but here's my attempt. Snow White biting into the apple which her evil stepmother the wicked queen has given her whilst dressed as the old hag :o)
It is magical to be able to be a pretend to be a fairy-tale princess and play dress up even as a grown up :) I pretend to be Belle as she is my favorite and loves to read just like me!
It is magical to get caught in a summer thunderstorm today and feel the rain as it squishes in my shoes, pounds and bounces off the sidewalk, as it soaks my clothes and skin.
It was magical to hear the thunder and fear the lightening.
It was magical to have hot french fries.
It was magical to see the clouds after the storm, to see the sun reflecting off the clouds and the turquoise skies appear.
It is magical to have a place to call home and clean dry clothes to put on!
@macaroniart Stunning! @mandyashton This was one of my thoughts, but I couldn't pull it off for a variety of reasons. You did it very well. @glyn Very "fairytale-ish!" @geertje Love it... and love your wings! @megc1 Great Cinderella shot. @potsbypam Nice take on the theme... very thoughtful and creative. @psychographer Totally getting the Snow White... nice processing. @smile4me Very cute! @grammyn You already saw my take on this. :) Very creative. What grade?
I must admit I had a bit of a "what the..." moment with the fairy tales theme.
I was mulling with the idea of doing a "Who's the fairest of them all?" mirror shot, but dragged my wedding dress out instead - because what fairy tale doesn't have a princess who doesn't get married! (Admittedly I'm thinking of Disney princesses...!)
The funniest part of the shoot for me was that Husband drove in as I was standing on the terraced steps taking the shot. If I could have taken a photo of the look on his face when he saw me in my wedding dress... it really was priceless!
@marilyn I had the same thoughts re: Goldilocks! I'm not into the whole acting/facial expressions & thought it'd be tricky to pull off! Good job though ;]
@geertje Thanks! @grammyn I did not notice the ears... and I wouldn't call them giant, either. We are always much more hypercritical of our own perceived "flaws" than others.
I am having a ball with this idea! I'm hoping we can post more than one??? I have been hoping to get outside but alas, not early marks for me from work this week so indoors it is. I pulled out my old Red Riding Hood cape and this is what I came up with.
And this is my first ever go at Photoshopping two images together. Not overly happy with it but it was fun to have a go - actually no it frustrated the heck out of me but at least I can say I tried??
@geertje What about a color challenge for the selfie? Like red, or blue or something? Even though I will be traveling and don't plan to have any red with me... or orange or yellow or green, either... though using one of those colors would give me a reason to shop... not that I ever really need a reason! :) Based on what I have seen so far, I think there would be some great creativity with a color theme.
This was supposed to be my take on 'wicked lovely', a modern faery tale. I didn't get what I was aiming for (by a long shot). Being in front of the camera is awkward for me, lots to learn there. so it is what it is.
I love everything Disney so put my Fairy Tale picture together quoting the old song 'Young at Heart" since I am young at heart! Thought it was appropriate especially since today is my birthday!
I finally got round to it once the rain stopped and went with a controversial fairy tale - "Adam and Eve".
My daughter helped me set this photo up and it was hilarious that my husband did'nt even notice that I was standing in the bushes with my T shirt off!!!!!
Some amazing shots here! So inspired! Hoping to get outside in the daytime tomorrow to try out one last idea I have floating in my head before the week is up

Cute shot!
