Gustav Klimt was one of the best Austrian Art Nouveau oil painting artist, 1862-1918 born as the son of a gold and silver engraver in a suburb of Vienna. He had a formal art training at the Vienna School of Decorative Arts.
Gustav Klimt's style is highly ornamental. The Art Nouveau movement favoured organic lines and contours.
The reason I chose Klimt was because I have three of his paintings (not the originals I hasten to add) in my hallway, they have been on my wall several years and I never tire of looking them.
Hopefully it will bring out the creative side in you and your photos!
The contest starts today September 25th for one week. Your entries will be accepted until October 1st.
Please tag your entries: 'artist_klimt'
At the end I will select 5 finalists and all 365ers can vote for their favourite.
Good luck!
@megc1 Nice idea, I think it works with the different patterns and colours especially the gold 'shading' which is what a lot of his painting consist of.
This is my take on Klimt Beeches, which is one of the three paintings I have in my hall.
