best way to send large photo files

November 6th, 2010
I have to send a very large folder of photos to a client via the internet. My email usually has a cap on the amount of photos I can send. Any ideas? I want to just hand them a memory stick but the lady is too busy to meet me.

You could compress them by using some zip software. You can get some free (at least on a test basis) online. I'm not sure what that does to the photo quality though, but generally I haven't seen any problems with it.

Best thing is using a free hosting space like for example Dropbox:

upload there your folder and share it with your client-

You can also use YouSendIt.com You can send up to 100MB for free, or if you buy a subscription, you can send up to 2 GB. I recommend zipping the file first.

Dropbox gets another nod from me - plus it has 2GB of free storage, which is more likely to be in the vicinity of your needs
