tagging photos

do alot of you tag your photos? I did in the beginning but quit about a month in or so...what is the purpose of it? do you think you get more views if you tag your photos?

Tagging helps u to relate ur pictures to a word and its helpful to search photos with words

For ex if you have tagged ur photo with the word "green" you will be able to find the photo in browse->bytag or you can search the photo in browse-> search using the word "green"

The point is to categorize a photo so that it appears in search or under a category...same way it works for the theme tags we use

It also helps 365 users to randomly locate ur pictures

So tagging is helpful...but not mandatory

Tagging is really just for your picture to come up in a search. As in, say someone is looking for inspiration and looks to 365 for it - they put in flowers and anything with flowers as a tag or in the description will come up :)

I really do think it helps people find your photos, I've stopped tagging and my pictures get a lot less views now. Maybe that also has to do with the fact that I'm commenting less too, but still my views are way down. At least I think

I tag my pictures - both on my computer and here, although here my tags are more specific - fence, tree, branch, snow, etc. I find it interesting to find other people who used the same tag, and you can compare your picture to theirs, and get other ideas about how to shoot that particular subject.

yes for fun and for classification .... if anyone see my pix and actually reads some of the tags they are funnie (sometimes) making it work for me and not being too serious about it all.

I like tagging for seeing who else has photographed the same thing, especially when it is something obscure.

Not sure if there's a way to do this already, but it'd be nice to be able to see only our (or those we're following) images in a tag search in addition to seeing everyones, like a sort filter....

made sense in my head, not sure it came out of the keyboard right *lol*

I tag mine for the search reasons, but I also put some commentary there that I don't put in the picture comments and things about the day too.

I've just strted here at 365. I tag my photos with as many words that are only necessary so that more people may notice them, but I also like to see who else would have images for that same theme. I wonder if I may fall out of this process in time too....
