What have I done?!?!

January 23rd, 2011
Everything was working just fine..not sure what I did...but now, when I edit my DNG files in CS5 (from LR3) and hit save....it saves from CS5 back to LR3 as a TIFF file (rather than JPG) so I then exported as JPG from LR3 so I can upload to 365, but the color is all off! I have all the settings to ProPhotoRGB. I can't figure it out. I lose all my saturation and the photo just looks dull and flat upon upload. What on earth have I done? Any ideas or help greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

This is common when jumping from sRGB to other formats and back... The weird thing is... Your process is the same as mine as my colors are fine. Your probably shooting in sRBG so one thing you can do is keep it in sRGB instead of changing it to prophotorgb.

Another thing you can do is convert to 8 bit in Photoshop and resave then reimport into lightroom it should fix the colors again. (or just save as a jpg from photoshop after converting it to 8bit)

@louish yup, it can't save to .jpg if it's not 8 bit color.

@gavincci @louish @meshinka Thank you very much for the help! I did change to 8 bit and changed to srgb and I think it looks normal again. The weird thing is...it was working fine this whole time and all of a sudden, just changed. I must've hit something I shouldn't have! :)

@craigdtull @nikkers @amorton1437 @peggysirk hahaha, you know as I re-read thru what I wrote I said I hope this make sense, I thought it kinda looked liked a foreign language re-reading it and I wrote it. hahaha.
