Watermark

How do you make a FUN watermark? Not just playing with font, but (for example) a flower where the "i" dot would be? Or something fun? More like a logo I suppose? I have photoshop elements, but am a newbie. Thanks a bunch!!

You could always browse font sites and then download whatever you like. I had heaps on my old desktop, from a Led Zeppelin font to a Family Guy font :D

To make a beveled watermark, for example http://365project.org/byrdlip/365/2011-02-19, in PSE6, you would take you original picture and edit it, Cntrl-J, make the original layer active, Click the text tool, type your name, when done, make the top layer active, Cntrl-G, make the text layer active and under your "effects" find bevels and click one that you like and you would get similar effect to the one above. Or http://365project.org/byrdlip/365/2011-02-11here, I used a .png image instead of text and a double bevel(?).

For you flower, create a blank image in PSE, type your name, company name, or logo, in LARGE size. Create a new layer above the text layer you just built and pick a photo of the flower, or create a flower that you want the "i" dot to be and place it over the dot, size, edit, crop the flower to fit. When satisfied, resize it down, save it and then you can pull it in and overlay the picture you want to watermark.

I'm sure there are better tutorials online that would explain all this better, but that is a basic scheme for creating one type of watermark. Get in the program a play and you will be amazed at what you can come up with.

There also are some excellent forums for users of PSE.

Have Fun.

@indiannie_jones @byrdlip Thank you both! I guess I'll get to searching and playing around!
