I need a hand in cropping without losing the aspect ratio. I don't want to just use the selection tool and select and crop because I will lose my dimensions. Is there an easy way?
with today's photo I created a new file in photoshop (8"x10") and "drag and dropped" my photo on the new file. I then positioned it to where it looked best. BUT doing this caused me to lose my Exif info. so here is my original photo.
so dramatic. i really like both the original picture and the cropped equally. i think the black around the subject in the original adds to the drama, but obviously the detail is a lot more noticable in the cropped, which i guess is what you were going for.
im jealous you were able to snag such an electric shot!
great way to crop without the frame size shrinking.. ^__^
photoshop.... open picture...
duplicate layer (CTRL+ J)
then... CTRL + T
u can see at the top of the menu the HEIGHT and the WIDTH in 100%
u can change it in any size u want but make sure, if you, like, wanna make it 150% on the width, it should be the same to the height.. 150% as well.. then try moving it...
won't make the picture pixelize, not til u gt to a thousand percent hihihihi ^___^ that's how i crop... hope this helps =)
