I don't know...ask what they want them for first, and then you can make up your mind with that information. Personally, I'd be reluctant to give out unedited photos no matter what the reasons, but depending on the situation, I might be willing to.
Sometimes people have a different concept of what an 'edit' means. To us here on 365, unedited means ACTUALLY and completely and utterly untouched - no contrast enhancement, colour balance changes, nothing. However to the layperson, 'unedited' might mean no major cropping, or added border/text/layers/effects, or b&w conversion - i.e. changes that are more immediately obvious.
But all the same, I think it's quite an odd request!
Odd request. I would say no, but you can always ask why. Also, unedited doesn't mean anything...you could very well process your pics with the cam, for example by setting the contrast up! Perhaps he wants to process them himself, get a B&W from the colour version, or something like that?
no. dont. its like you're giving them permission to do all the editing themselves. then they wont need you to do the editing for them and they will save money but you will loose out.
Are they asking for them as files or in print, either way it shouldn't really matter as i still wouldnt hand them over as they are your property, i presume you shoot in RAW and convert to JPEG............... i certainly would not hand over RAW files!!
Is it of their children? Personally, I prefer unedited photos of children--children don't need editing. Maybe they just wanted "the moment captured" as it truly was?
I agree with @jinximages.
My reason? The images are your product. They should reflect what you wish to present. Should the client receive a digital copy of your finished image? That is for you to negotiate.
i did a photoshoot for a friend and they asked for everything, including any ones i planned to delete.
i only gave them the final ones, some needed editing some didnt, but only gave them the ones i wanted to give them

At the very least they should be shown the edited along with unedited.
