Almost 10 years ago the worst fire in Colorado history burned thousands of acres. This area once was covered with tall pines and aspen trees. 12 miles on this road still bare the scars of the summer of 2002.

There has been so many disasters around the World in the last 10 years it is staggering and very sad. I hope this forests tarts to rejuvenate soon.

Great shot. Sad story. 10 years and there's not much Mother Nature is doing about this...yet. I've seen similar sights in Yosemite and Yellowstone, and both have recovered nicely.

I remember seeing similar landscapes when I was visitng Colorado a few years back. Eerie.
