I took this picture from my back yard.. the aspen trees are still bare. The flowering tree I posted several days ago was from my work. amazing how 20 miles and 2000 feet of lower altitude can change the landscape
Spring looked like it was going to arrive early this year, but everything has slowed down with the cooler weather. It will get here hopefully soon. I like how the sun is highlighting the sides of the trees. One of Ansel Adams' famous photographs was of aspens.
Know what you mean about a couple thousand feet elevation difference. Aspen are somewhat unremarkable trees when bare, then the get interesting in summer and gorgeous in autumn.
it feels bleak, but none the less, expectant... there is something warmer about the photo than one would expect for the winter... hopefully spring is just around the corner :)
