Hmm. In Australia that pic would be less than a month. Of course, in Australia that park would have been set ablaze about half a dozen times since then.
Nice picture, showing the recovery. Fire is a fact of life in western forests - in fact, there's a theory that letting areas burn occasionally keeps the forests thinned out so that the fires don't burn as hot and aren't as destructive (not a build-up of fuel). Really hot fires can sterilize the soil, making recovery harder, while cooler, faster moving fires can clear out the debris but not kill all the trees. There's such a controversy about when or when not to fight brush fire.
