Yellowstone burn area

In 1988 Yellowstone suffered droughts which caused the park to be ablazed. Burnt trees were scattered throughout the park. 24 years later this picture shows the slow process of nature healing the land...
Progress...slow but sure. I remember it when it was blackened. Nice shot.

Nature will win Diane it always does.

Hmm. In Australia that pic would be less than a month. Of course, in Australia that park would have been set ablaze about half a dozen times since then.

great shot of nature recovering - it's so sad when woodland is devastated by fire.

Nice picture, showing the recovery. Fire is a fact of life in western forests - in fact, there's a theory that letting areas burn occasionally keeps the forests thinned out so that the fires don't burn as hot and aren't as destructive (not a build-up of fuel). Really hot fires can sterilize the soil, making recovery harder, while cooler, faster moving fires can clear out the debris but not kill all the trees. There's such a controversy about when or when not to fight brush fire.
