At last! The Blackpool lights.

It rained most of the day on the Thursday of our break but cheered up quite a bit in the late afternoon, so we decided to do the main thing we went away for: seeing the famous Blackpool Illuminations:

Please excuse the mass upload! The weather still wasn't very reliable and we were both quite tired and so we joined all the other cars crawling happily along the Golden Mile rather than walking it. I've chosen this shot of one of the decorated trams because they are so often featured in publicity shots and features about the lights that they've become iconic.
