Well, I can't think what else could be holding this barn up! I reckon it's had so much practice it just doesn't know how to fall down.
Lester went out for a walk with some friends today and Gareth and I did some shopping for decorations for his photo scrapbook. We finished up at our favourite tearoom, but before that I made a little detour to a tiny village nearby to take a picture of this barn. It was more practical to carry the compact today.
Critique welcome. Veteran 365er, 2011 vintage. Only posting occasionally and irregularly now.
I'm an abstract photography enthusiast but not exclusively so.

@bdb3471 Thank you, Brian. The aerial's really on the farm building behind, which is in a vastly better state of repair, but you should see the rusty old machinery in that barn! I didn't dare get the camera into the windows to take shots of it ; you can see the house very clearly from that close, so I guess it works the other way round!
@jayberg@bigsusan55 Thank you :-) @clairefisher Thank you, Claire. He sure is. We got him an album and some starter bits for Christmas, printed a few shots from his last visit and we went to Hobbycraft for decs. today and did the 1st page together when we got back. Watch this space! I can't thank you enough for the idea, he loves it.
That is a great composition. So much history there. I gree about the compact camera. I always have mine in my bag. My new camera has to have its own bag so may not use it as much.
Someone is keeping the barn upright so they can put in for planing permission to do a massive conversion and sell it for squillions! Sorry for being cynical but we have been the victims of horrible planning permits!
It's amazing that this is still standing. In Hawaii, we would say that is held up only because the termites are holding hands. :o) That hardly can apply to your neck of the woods though. Very nice that you took the time to seek this out for today's photos.
I love old structures like this. They seem so resilient when buldings that are engineered to stand thru natural disasters crumble. Nice shot and great processing.

@elzibell Lol! I wonder if we'll ever be able to get shots of the magic force fields that must surround them?
hope you had a lovely Christmas.
@everydaylife365 Thanks, Lyn, yes - quiet but pleasant. And you?
