Thank you to everyone who looks/comments so kindly on my shots.
Our son Gareth's home this weekend and this afternoon he and I went out to run a couple of errands. We finished off our trip with a visit to Pitstone windmill for some fresh air and photo opportunities.
It was very windy - well, not much point putting a windmill there otherwise! - and very cold considering it's May. Still, "ne'er cast a clout 'til May be out" and all that. It was quite refreshing though.
The windmill's a post mill - the top part of the mill building can be turned on a central post so that the sails face the wind. This is the beam that is pushed (or maybe pulled by a horse?) to rotate the building.
I thought the view from the beam, with the oil seed rape in flower, was rather pretty.
Incidentally, in case you don't know, rapeseed oil is even healthier than olive oil and makes the tastiest, crunchiest roast potatoes ever. :-)
Critique welcome. Veteran 365er, 2011 vintage. Only posting occasionally and irregularly now.
I'm an abstract photography enthusiast but not exclusively so.

Great picture - makes me feel all British-y for some reason, although I'm sure the same scene plays out all across the world. You were right though, this is a fab angle. Enjoy your weekend with your son Xx
Really interesting photo - and love the history I learn from you while enjoying your pictures. I look forward to seeing what you will find each day. The colors in this make it really pretty.
