How I created my shot for The Lorax

"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better. It's not." Dr Seuss-The Lorax

This is almost the original photo.
I took an extremely high key shot to wash out everything but my daughter and the buildings in the background. It ended up beig a bit too high key and I had to bring the exposure down a bit. I used a clone tool to multiply the buildings to look like a city and to get rid of anything the high key didn't hide and layered the plant on afterwards. The smoke was added from picmonkey's overlays. It is their smoke. I use picmonkey for anything outside of my camera settings. I also used the clone tool to get rid of her shadow as it interfered with the clarity of the plant when I tried to add it.
(update: having looked at it for a while I decided to add the plant to this shot but other than a crop and the plant this is SOOC)

This is the final shot. http://365project.org/madhatters/365/2014-04-01

@cheribug Hmmm...now I'm liking this one too. Maybe if all I added was the plant. A bit simpler. Same message.
