Do you know what this is?

It was getting late, so I grabbed my camera and ran out to the golf course to try to find some pretty flowers. Well I found some but a golf ball almost found me! The golfer apologized and then asked me to take his photo for a sports magazine. Due to my near death experience (ok, that is a little dramatic), I abandoned the flowers and briskly walked back toward our house searching for anything to snap before I lost the sunlight. I came across an evergreen tree covered with these. I have never seen anything like it before and just thought they were really unique looking.

Oh, I don't know what it is either, so if you do, please let me know!
Very pretty! And I'm glad to hear that you are ok. Scary!

That looks like "cedar apple rust", which an arborist told me is infesting some of our cedar trees. Looks just like it. You are supposed to spray it with fungicide. It spreads slowly to other trees if left untreated. That is today's arbor lesson. :0) TMS
