This afternoon, my husband and I took our son to a beautiful 1914 carousel which boasts hand carved horses by famed Russian carousel designers Stein and Goldstein. I have very fond memories of this carousel because as a child, my parents took me and my sisters there frequently. I was so excited to take little M. there for the first time. He was a little rambunctious and wouldn’t sit on the horses for me, so we took our two rides in the chariot. He sat on one of the stationary horse for my husband, so he was able to experience an actual horsie ride. It turns out that the carousel is actually pretty hard to photograph because the building that it is enclosed in is not much bigger that it, so it was a little difficult to get a wide angle shot.
awwwwwww egad !!! Youve stolen another of my boxes to tick, wheres a fairground when you need it !!! Well done. Beautiful composition and technically perfect!
@mcdougall Thanks for the fav. We need to go back again. @jsl0082 you are very sweet! Thanks Pooh. @cpmitchell lol...thank you. Check out my next photo. It is also a check on the 365 to do! @nattybabe The little guy was a little too crazy this time. I will definitely go back again and capture a horse next time.
This came out wonderful. I've taken my kids to that Carousel, too. It's a really beautiful carousel and so big compared to some others we've been on with the kids.
@swiegers Thank you Shayne. Yes it is a long exposure shot. @billiusbog I don't really know much about flashes, so I will have to do some research before I go back. Thank you for the suggestion because I agree...I don't love the grey horse smear.
