For Father’s Day today, I went for a walk with my husband, my son and my parents, and at one point, we stopped because my son needed to get up and run a little. As we were about to continue our walk, my dad whispered to me from this tiny path. I walked in to see a huge bird that looked like a really big crane at the end of the path. By the time I tried to photograph it, it was gone, so of course, my dad and I went in search of it. When we got to where the bird had been standing, it was nowhere in sight but there was a big snake instead. Now, let me mention that my dad and I are not woodsy, outdoorsy types. Give us cities and concrete any day. We were kind of spooked by the snake, so we promptly turned and exited the path. It was a really fun father/daughter moment even if we didn’t get a photo of the bird. Happy Father’s Day, Dad. I love you.
