Yesterday, I thought we were lucky. Today, I think we are extremely lucky. I have spoken to a lot of people that do not have power and are not expecting it for days. About 40% of the state is still out. There was a lot of damage done by this storm. Many fallen trees, a lot of homes are destroyed and some people even lost their lives. I cannot even comprehend what a severe storm would be like. This shot was taken less than two blocks away from our house. This tree falling knocked out power for the entire street. Luckily, no one was hurt, but they are anticipating days before they will have power restored to their houses. Oh, and all of the water on the street is due to a broken water main.
Wow! I feel very lucky too. E and I went running tonight and the entire grid a block from our house is out. You could hear generators from every other house! Then we saw that across the street from the park a house had a tree smash a whole side off! G's school has no power. We were VERY lucky.
Glad you are safe~ These kinds of storms are always scary and never seem to leave a place unharmed, be it trees fallen, power out, lives lost. ~ terrible. ~
And did Pooh say you went running???
