My husband and I took my son out to the town center tonight to get him dinner. We told him that we were going to get him a grilled cheese and milk, so he ran to the door grabbed his shoes all while muttering grilled cheese…grilled cheese. He was the perfect child at dinner. Sat patiently and waited for his meal and then ate the entire thing. Once we finished, my husband took him to the store to buy milk while I was going to attempt some street shots. Since we go to dinner so early, there was no one out. I ended up taking this shot of a bunch of cars stopped at a red light. SOOC other than the crop.
I like it! (oh, mom to mom, isn't it great when they're good at the restaurant?) BTW, that photo can be done sooc, the only thing I changed out of camera was the contrast and color temperature. Technically (i think) those can be done in camera as well. In case you were wondering. :-)
@lanina Nina, just a tip. If want to ask someone a question directly, under their name is a reply button. Thus the @lania. Just a friendly tip. BTW Bokeh= simple version is blur.
looks great with the wide crop..
i think with street shots you gotta be brave, bold and lucky.
Plenty opportunities will arise, most will be blurred or hurried or too dificult... but unexpexced moments will present ...right time right place sort of thing.
have fun out there, stay safe and grilled cheese...hmmmm now yer talking.
Great bokeh! To get this result do you turn out the AF and focus manually? And why f4 rather than another one?
(PS: What a suprise when I saw that you selected my picture as your favourite one of the week. Thank you very much.)
@hellcat Really? I would never have guessed that. It looks like you applied a texture. @sgoodin1 Ha ha...it doesn't happen regularly. That is why I figured it was worth mentioning!! @lanina Looks like Corey answered you bokeh question. SOOC = Straight out of the camera @sleepdozer57 Thanks for the support. I am a little shy still of taking street shots, so I was kind of bummed that I actually got up the nerve to do it and there were no one out there! @maeva I had it on manual focus in AV priority mode. I set it to f4 and ISO 800 because I wanted to take some street shots. Since there was no one out and my husband and son were finished in the store, I just quickly framed and took some traffic shots. I guess my answer is in this case, there was no real reason other than I was in a hurry and didn't change my settings.
ps: I also love grilled cheese... yammi!
