My husband and I went in to the hospital for our scheduled induction this morning. When I delivered our first son, my labor was 6 hours which is really quick for a first time labor, and since delivery times are shorter with each baby, my doctor was concerned that we would not get to the hospital in time with this one. Turns out his concerns were justified as I was only in labor for three hours. The little guy was born at 4:20 weighing in at 7 lbs and 12oz. He was 20 inches long.
It is such a happy day! My parents brought my son to visit, and he was such a good big brother...very gentle with the baby. We will see how long that lasts!! We also got visits from both my sisters, my brother-in-law Mike and my in-laws. It was wonderful to be surrounded by family on such a joyous day.
The baby is healthy, but we did have a little scare. Since his delivery was so quick, all of the amniotic fluid did not come out during delivery. He had two incidents where he was choking on it, and during one of them, he turned blue. The nurses suctioned him, and he has been good ever since.
