This morning mom and baby were deemed healthy enough to head home, so we packed everything up. It feels good to be home! My mom brought my older son home, and I heard him in the driveway saying "mama...mama...mama..." I called out to him, and he came running to see me and was only momentarily distracted by the push broom, stopping and saying ‘I sweep’.
We spent some time together in the family room playing and trying to teach my older son how to act around a baby. He grabbed his lawn mower and kept saying ‘mow baby…mow baby…’. I guess we have some work to do.
My younger daughter is 6 months old now and my toddler is 2.5. On a daily basis we still have to talk about being gentle. The toddler likes to rub the babies head just a little too roughly or acts as though she's patting her leg and then pinches her!! But it slowly has gotten better. I hear boys are easier anyhow! Good luck and enjoy!
A precious memory of bringing your new baby home! I wish I had done something like this when I had mine as its so easy to forget these details, especially of your older one getting accustomed to his baby brother.
happy happy family... happy for you ;)
