I was up with the baby at 4 am and was surprised to see that it was snowing. It has been the weirdest weather this year. Living in New England, we usually get snow all winter…lots and lots of snow. This winter we have probably had less than six inches. It was gorgeous this morning and I was all set to go out and snap some shots, but both boys woke up at the same time. I did not have another opportunity to go out until 12 hours later and by that time the snow had turned to rain and most of the snow was gone. I found this little bit on the fence.
The contrast between the melting snow and the leaves on the vines weaving through the fence is just beautiful. It really speaks volumes about this winter- it's been low on snow here (salt lake city), too. Ridiculously low- driest December on record!
Love the tones and different textures of this shot. Your processing is fantastic and has really highlighted the contrast between the fence, the green leaves and the white snow that is only just barely still clinging on!
@maggotx it is a single shot but I tone mapped it using Photomatix. I used the painterly preset and then tweaked it. Then, I loaded it in Photoshop and played around with the settings some more. I hope this helps and thanks for the Fav!
