After my younger son was born, I passed up a promotion and decided to work part time to spend time with the boys. My husband and I work together, and yesterday someone asked him "what does she actually do?". He was very sweet and came to my defense. At first, comments like this used to bother me, but now I keep it in perspective. Today, instead of being in the office, I took the boys to a local lake. We swam, ate lunch, played on the playground and had an amazing day. I absolutely made the right choice.
