Today was a day I had been dreading since our pediatrician said the words "you need to take him to see a dentist" a year and a half ago. Yes, it took me a year and a half to take him. Yes, that is probably bad parenting. However, he was not ready.
M was anxious this morning. He was asking me a lot of questions, and I was doing my best to answer even though I really didn't know what they were going to do. Ultimately, I told him it was ok to be nervous because it is something that he has never done, but that I was going to be there and, he could hold my hand if he needed to.
Turns out, he was amazing! He laid in the chair. He let the dentist examine his teeth. He brushed his teeth to show the dentist. He even let the dentist paint fluoride on them. OK, it was chocolate flavored, so it probably wasn't that traumatic. M even told me that I didn't need to hold his hand. I was so proud of him! He even said that he wanted to go back.
After that, we played at the park for a couple of hours, and then, he went to gym camp. After dinner and his bath, he was so tired. All he wanted to do was lay in my bed and watch a show.
