It may be because of the wild fires here but the Strawberry moon was an intense red when it rose. I was stunned at the beauty. I snapped a few shots - annoyed with myself because I'd not set the tripod up or anything so I wasn't ready or hopeful for anything to come up. I'm sure happy I still tried - not award winning but glad I've got something of it. I still wish I'd prepped - I might have been able to get it when it was that intense red. - I was a huge admirer of the artist Prince - and so the title, "Under the Cherry Moon".
Thank you for stopping and all your kind comments~they encourage me and motivate me - now I just need to be a little more prepped '-)
Year 7 on this adventure! I’m especially appreciative of the community found here! I am inspired by everyone; learning from so many. Your shares make...
Love the subtle, dark hills -- perfect for setting off that incredible moon. I watched it rise, too, but I don't know the technique for moon shots.....
@aikimomm I used a higher ISO and a slow shutter speed and used the mammogram technique (hold your breath, hold, hold... and... breathe) :-) I was happy to get the detail I did - I shot it just a bit under exposed - if you leave it too slow you run the risk of losing the detail with all the light - as well as momentarily blinding yourself. I don't like using too high an ISO because I didn't want too grainy. A tripod is always a good idea as well. :-)
@gilbertwood@pamknowler@cherrymartina@dyanstevens Thank you so much! I wish I could have caught it when the red was even more intense but I was pretty excited to have caught it enough that it was just barely lighting the hillside too. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
